Park Projects: American Indian Cultural Arts Festival

The Chaco Culture Conservancy’s mission is to raise funds to support Aztec Ruins National Monument and Chaco Culture National Historical Park. Throughout the year, we are excited to bring you updates about how YOUR donations are being put to good use throughout the park.

One way that the Parks use these donations is in supporting artists and cultural demonstrations that take place in the Parks throughout the year. On an annual basis, Aztec Ruins National Monument hosts the American Indian Cultural Arts Festival. This year, the event spans two days and will feature artists selling their goods, dancers, and musical performances. Funds raised by the CCC will go towards supporting this event in many ways. Ranger Kelli tells us more about it below:

“Aztec Ruins is celebrating its centennial in a big way this year! On July 15th and 16th, we will be hosting the American Indian Cultural Arts Festival. Out-of-town artists, dance groups, and live music will be featured during this event! A huge thank you goes out to the Chaco Culture Conservancy (CCC) for providing funding and support during this event. The money they have provided through their donations is going toward lodging, a tent to cover the musical performance stage, and dance groups, among others. Join us in thanking them for making this event possible! And mark your calendars – this festival is coming up soon!”

Without your support, the CCC could not provide support for events like this. Your donations always go towards supporting the Parks, but they also support the community! If you’re wondering how to donate, you can DONATE here or on our Facebook page. You can also make donations at our in-person events, like the American Indian Cultural Arts Festival! We hope to see you there!
