Read about news from the parks and the CCC in January
Winter has arrived at Chaco Culture National Historical Park and Aztec Ruins National Monument! Recently, both parks have been covered a consistent blanket of snow, creating a beautiful contrast to the golden sandstone masonry. Snow and ice can mean that visitors have a difficult time driving into Chaco Culture National Historical Park, but experiencing snow in the canyon can certainly be worth the drive in! To check road conditions before you make your journey into the canyon any time of the year, you can call the front desk of the park at (505) 786-7014.
The Chaco Culture Conservancy is excited to welcome our brand new Executive Director, Olivia Thomsen! Olivia has been part of the Conservancy for the past year and a half, serving as a board member. You may recognize her from events in the parks, and she also manages all of the Conservancy social media accounts. Olivia is the Conservancy’s very first employee, and we look forward to seeing how our organization grows with her help!
With the addition of an Executive Director, the Chaco Culture Conservancy will be making some changes in the coming year. This month, we are excited to bring you two new ways to give! You can now choose to donate on our website via Paypal or using your debit/credit card. Giving our donors multiple ways to donate is important to us, and we want you to know that your financial information is protected. That is why we chose to work with Give Lively, a fundraising platform for non-profit organizations. Give Lively implements Stripe, a payment processing company. Now donors can choose how to give!
We are also introducing a new phone number that donors and community members can use to contact the CCC! If you have questions or would like to make a contribution over the phone, we invite you to give us a call at (505) 390-3980! Olivia will be on the other end of the phone, happy to help you!
Along with new donation methods, the Chaco Culture Conservancy is bringing you a new opportunity to stay connected! With all of the changes coming, we want to kick off the year by introducing a mailing list. Joining our mailing list means that you’ll get updates, thank you cards, and newsletters right to your mailbox. When you sign up, we’ll also send you a postcard from the parks with a handwritten thank you from the Chaco Culture Conservancy! Sign up today by submitting your name and address via the contact form on our website.
Join our mailing list today and receive your very own postcard from the parks!
The Chaco Culture Conservancy has received a Candid Gold Seal of Transparency! Check out our nonprofit profile on Guidestar to keep up to date with our impact.
